The Adobea Foundation
Eban – The Adobea Foundation is a charitable foundation established to create opportunities, strengthen communities and improve the lives of children and young people, with a particular focus on education.
“Eban” means fence in Twi. The name reflects the Foundation’s aspiration to provide protection, support and a strong foundation within which children and communities can grow and thrive.
The Foundation’s work primarily focuses on education and community development, including scholarships, literacy, school infrastructure and teacher development through its SHIELD Programme.
The Foundation primarily supports children and young people, schools, teachers and communities that meet the criteria established for its programmes and interventions.
The Foundation is based in Ghana and implements its programmes within communities identified according to its programme objectives, needs assessments and available resources.
SHIELD PROGRAMME
SHIELD is a flagship programme of Eban – The Adobea Foundation designed to strengthen educational outcomes and create opportunities for children and communities.
The programme focuses on key areas including:
- Scholarships and educational support
- Literacy development
- Infrastructure and school improvement
- Empowerment and support for teachers
- Development of sustainable educational opportunities
Beneficiaries are selected based on the objectives and eligibility criteria of the specific intervention. Depending on the programme, beneficiaries may include students, schools, teachers and communities.
Scholarship beneficiaries are selected through an assessment process based on established eligibility criteria. These may include demonstrated need, educational circumstances, academic considerations and other relevant factors determined by the Foundation.
No. The availability of scholarships is dependent on funding and programme capacity. Applicants must meet the relevant eligibility criteria, and submission of an application does not guarantee selection.
